About the Role
As a Trade Compliance Specialist (m/f/d), you will play a critical role in our mission, ensuring ARX Robotics' advanced technology reaches our partners legally, ethically, and in full compliance with international trade regulations. You will be a hands-on partner to our engineering, sales, and supply chain teams, managing core elements of our trade compliance framework from export controls and classification to customs and sanctions screening.

In this position, you will translate complex regulations into clear, workable processes that enable our teams to move quickly while maintaining the highest standards of integrity. Working in a mission-critical environment where precision matters, you will take full ownership of your compliance areas, make sound, well-documented decisions, and directly contribute to the success and reliability of our operations.
What You’ll Build
  • Classify our hardware, software, and technology under national and international export control regulations.
  • Strengthen and maintain our Internal Compliance Program (ICP), keeping our policies and procedures audit-ready.
  • Manage the end-to-end export control process, from securing licenses to tracking all reporting obligations.
  • Drive our sanctions and restricted-party screening processes to safeguard our business and partnerships.
  • Oversee our customs compliance framework in coordination with operational and logistics partners.
  • Act as the go-to advisor for our technical and commercial teams, providing clear, practical guidance on trade compliance matters.
  • Monitor geopolitical and regulatory shifts, translating them into concrete actions to keep ARX ahead of the curve.
What You Bring
  • A background in law, international trade, business, or a related field with a focus on regulatory compliance.
  • Proven experience in trade compliance, with hands-on work in export control, customs, or sanctions, ideally within a regulated tech industry like defense or aerospace.
  • Working knowledge of EU and national export control laws; familiarity with U.S. (ITAR/EAR) regulations is a strong advantage.
  • The ability to map complex technical products to specific regulatory requirements.
  • A talent for translating dense legal text into clear, actionable advice for technical and non-technical colleagues.
  • A highly structured and detail-oriented approach, with excellent judgment in handling sensitive information.
  • A proactive, self-directed mindset with the ability to take ownership and collaborate across teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and German are required.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance required for a defense environment.

Please note: You do not need to meet every single requirement to apply. We welcome motivated candidates who are eager to grow into the role and develop their expertise further.
