Trusted by 1000+ GPs, owners/operators, and investment firms globally, we help teams streamline the full lifecycle of investment management - from fundraising and onboarding to reporting, distributions, tax, and back-office automation.

But we’re more than just software. We’re a team of bold thinkers, innovators, and real estate enthusiasts who believe complex processes should feel simple. Our platform combines modern technology with expert services, helping our customers raise more capital, deliver a better investor experience, and scale their businesses smarter.Agora is backed by top-tier VCs like Insight Partners and Qumra Capital, and we’re growing fast. We’ve been named one of Globes’ Most Promising Startups, recognized as a Best Start-Up Companies to Work For by Duns 100, and one of Business Insider’s Hottest PropTech Startups.

Agora is building the accounting and tax practice that real estate firms actually want - one that runs on modern tooling, clean process, and people who know the asset class cold. We work with sponsors, funds, and operators across the US, including those with foreign investors and offshore capital structures. Our team is small, opinionated, and tech-forward: we expect everyone to use AI in their day-to-day work, not just talk about it.

We are looking for a junior preparer role on our real estate tax team. You'll prepare partnership returns under a senior reviewer, build clean workpapers, and use our AI-enabled tax stack as a core part of how you work. This is the right seat for someone early in their career who wants serious technical reps in real estate tax, and who's excited to work alongside modern tools instead of around them.

What you'll do

  • Prepare federal and state partnership returns for real estate sponsors, funds, and operating entities.
  • Build supporting workpapers - fixed assets, depreciation schedules, capital accounts, state apportionment, K-1 allocations.
  • Use the firm's tax software and AI co-pilots day-to-day; flag where they help and where they fall short.
  • Respond to reviewer comments cleanly and on time - and learn from each round.
  • Help gather and organize client data; flag unusual transactions or missing items early.
  • Contribute to process improvements - juniors here are expected to have a point of view.
Requirements
  • 1–2 years of public accounting experience, including strong internships.
  • Attention to detail and a real interest in getting the technical work right.
  • Comfort with new software and AI tools - you don't need to be an engineer, but you should be curious.
  • Accounting degree (or on track to complete one); CPA / EA candidacy a plus.
  • Clear written communication; you can explain what you did and why.
  • Interest in real estate as an asset class - partnerships, depreciation, 1031s, cost seg - even if you haven't touched them all yet.
  • CCH experience/knowledge is a plus

Why this role

You'll get reps on real estate partnership work from day one, a reviewer who teaches instead of just red-lining, and a firm where AI is built into your workflow - so your time goes to learning the substance, not chasing PDFs.

Skills Required

  • Comfort with new software and AI tools
  • Accounting degree or on track to complete one
  • CPA or EA candidacy
  • Clear written communication
  • Interest in real estate tax topics (partnerships, depreciation, 1031s, cost segregation)
  • CCH experience/knowledge
