Junior Systems Admin – IT Technical Services

Reports to:  Global Director Cloud Operations                

Location:     EMEA

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for maintaining, building, and securing operational IT infrastructure. Working within a larger global infrastructure team and adhering to global standards and practices the role supports the local Service Delivery Manager to provide stable, secure, available, and performing systems. The Junior Systems Admin position is a steppingstone to build the foundation skills and experience needed to become a systems engineer.

This position description does not form a comprehensive list of duties and can be varied or added to within the scope of the position and as discussed during the performance planning & review process (PPR).

• Demonstrate safe working behaviours.

Operations

• Complete on/off boarding and role changes.
• Complete SOX compliance activities and maintaining evidence.
• Complete infrastructure checklists accurately and on time.
• Resolve issues identified from system checks.
• Complete capacity reviews and action clean-ups and archiving.
• Timely incident rectification to maximise availability of systems.
• Installation, configuration, monitor, document backup systems.
• Maintain CCTV systems actioning faults and operational issues.
• Maintain Intercom site systems actioning faults and operational issues.
• Maintain Teams Telephony services and resolve issues working with vendor.
• Maintain Video Conference systems updates.
• Install, maintain, configure printers, and print services.
• Install, maintain, configure WIFI Scanners.
• Implement changes according to change control procedures.
• Minimise production outages outside agreed maintenance windows.
• Active directory account management.
• Maintain monitoring systems.
• Maintain cloud infrastructure in both AWS, Azure and any others in future.
• Participate in annual AOP/budget processes.

Infrastructure Projects

(With guidance)

• Gather requirements and problem statements.
• Design and implement infrastructure solutions.
• Work as a team member on global projects.
• Successful project management of scope/schedule/quality/cost
• Develop operational handover plans and as built documentation.
• Develop training materials for operations resources.
• Create and manage tenders for infrastructure services

Security & Compliance Operations

• Security Patch local servers monthly.  
• Rectify security vulnerabilities identified by security tool scans.
• Perform operational security tasks as directed by the global security team.
• Action regional breach incidents and rectifications.
• Complete audits and security testing as per the security calendar.
• Participate in disaster recovery testing.

Sustainability and social responsibility

• Develop solutions with the least environment impact.
• Lead the way in environmental responsibility.
• Improve a disadvantaged community by your actions     

Qualifications and Experience required

• Minimum 3 years’ in a “Service Desk Analyst” L2 or similar role with a wide range of operational exposure including projects.
• Microsoft Windows Server administration training or equivalent experience.
• Experience configuring Azure and Active Directory to manage accounts, groups, and attributes.
• Experience administering Office 365 mailboxes, accounts, licences, and security (MFA).

• Foundation Window Server Administration training.
• Foundation Office 365 Administration training.
• Foundation VMWare and Veeam Administration training
• Foundation Azure Administration training.
• Foundation Teams telephony training.
• Foundation PRTG monitoring training.
• Group Policy, Microsoft Endpoint Manager and SCCM experience.
• Networking experience, switches, SDWAN, Wireless networks.
• Experience around IT compliance testing, gathering evidence, working to compliance timelines, and working with internal and external auditors. 
• Experience minimising implementation risk through change control methodologies.
