You Are:
The Junior Systems Administrator, supports the management, maintenance, and security of Windows and RedHat Linux systems in an AWS environment. This role is ideal for an enthusiastic learner who enjoys problem‑solving, collaborating with teammates, and developing technical skills under senior guidance. You will assist with daily operations including backups, user account maintenance, troubleshooting, patching, and documentation. This position is fully onsite in Crystal City, VA.
The Work:
- Support O&M activities for RHEL and Windows servers in AWS
- Assist with server provisioning, backup and recovery, patching, and STIG application
- Help troubleshoot system and network issues and build diagnostic skills
- Learn and apply RBAC, auditing, ACLs, and Active Directory fundamentals
- Contribute to secure system configurations for Linux and Windows
- Aid in monitoring AWS infrastructure and supporting compliance documentation
- Collaborate with the Cloud Infrastructure and Cyber Security teams
Here’s What You Need:
- Active Secret clearance
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience with or exposure to both Linux and AWS administration
- Ability to assist with backup/restore processes and monthly OS patching
- CompTIA Security+ CE certified (or ability to obtain within 60 days of starting)
- Familiarity with and willingness to learn:
- AWS cloud
- Linux (RHEL 7/8/9) and Windows systems administration
- Bash or PowerShell scripting for automation
- Privilege management (sudo, UAC) and AWS network troubleshooting
- Security control assessments
- On‑site requirement: 5 days/week in Crystal City, VA
Bonus If You Have:
- Familiarity with DISA STIGs, POA&Ms, or ATO processes
Security Clearance Requirements:
- Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain SSBI.

The base pay range for this position in these locations is shown below.
