Role Overview:
Trellix is hiring a Junior Solutions Engineer to partner with our commercial and enterprise sales teams in driving technical wins across our cybersecurity portfolio. In this role, you will discover customer requirements, deliver solution demonstrations, and manage proofs-of-value to help organizations defend against evolving threat landscapes.As a Junior Solutions Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting the technical sales lifecycle for our commercial and enterprise accounts. Working in close partnership with Account Executives and Senior Sales Engineers, you will help discover customer needs, build trust, deliver solution demonstrations, and execute proofs-of-concept (POC/POV) to secure the technical win.
This role offers a clear growth path to expand your cybersecurity expertise and presales skills while collaborating across Sales, Renewals, Support, and Product teams.
About the Role
- Support Technical Wins: Partner with sales reps and senior engineers during client calls and visits to qualify technical requirements and present solution capabilities.
- Requirements Gathering: Assist in discovering customer business needs, mapping security challenges, and aligning them with solution use cases.
- Demos & Presentations: Deliver clear, effective technical demonstrations and assist in presenting solution proposals to key stakeholders.
- RFP/RFI Response Support: Contribute to technical responses for RFIs, RFPs, and security questionnaires with guidance from presales leadership.
- Proof of Value (POV) Execution: Help manage and execute proof-of-value activities to demonstrate solution performance against customer evaluation criteria.
- Technical Account Assistance: Build rapport with technical contacts in target accounts, help address technical inquiries alongside Support, and identify expansion opportunities.
- Executive Briefings & Betas: Support technical setup and demonstrations for Executive Briefings, customer beta programs, and early adopter initiatives.
- Continuous Learning & Feedback: Actively participate in presales enablement programs, stay current on security trends, and share customer insights with Product teams.
About You
- Experience: 1–3 years of experience in cybersecurity, presales support, solutions engineering, systems engineering, or technical support.
- Technical Foundation: Foundational knowledge in one or more of the following areas:
- Trellix Security Solutions & Architectures (a plus)
- Cloud & Virtualization Security
- Data Protection & Data Loss Prevention (DLP)
- Network Security, Web Proxies, or SD-WAN
- Workload & Container Security
- Certifications: Relevant introductory or intermediate certifications preferred (e.g., Security+, Network+, AWS/Azure Fundamentals, CCNA, or vendor security certifications).
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and business audiences.
- Attention to Detail: Precision in capturing technical requirements and assisting with accurate Bills of Materials (BOM) creation.
- Growth Mindset: Strong curiosity, high coachability, and a drive to expand cybersecurity and presales skills in a fast-paced environment.
