Job Description:

Want to work in an Agile environment together with multiple Global teams? We can offer an exciting position in one of the software development teams! It is expected that you have excellent programming skills and will further develop and grow by participating in the development, debugging and deployment of the cross platform MPLAB Extensions for VS Code. The successful applicant will work with a team of experienced engineers and cooperate with other teams worldwide. The teams develop and maintain an Integrated Development Environment called MPLAB Extensions for VS Code, used to provide embedded development capabilities to all our customers, for all of Microchip devices. Together with the teams, you will be enabling and supporting a large user base of embedded developers to develop their applications, by creating and enhancing features in MPLAB Extensions for VS Code. Knowing your users, and the challenges they face, is important in helping them be as productive as possible with the best tools suited for their job. We utilize a range of different programming and scripting languages, e.g., Typescript, Python, Java. We're working on fine tuning the continuous build and integration environment (using Jenkins), making the development environment as eƯective as possible. Jira is used to follow up stories and bugs to have visibility in the global development environment across teams.

Requirements/Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications

• Applicants must possess a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in computer science or similar discipline.
• Good programming skills.
• max 2 years of experience

Knowledge in the following fields is beneficial but not a must

• Embedded development
• Typescript
• Node
• Java
• Continuous integration using Jenkins
• Agile processes

Good communications skills, both written and verbal, are key to working with the company divisions to capture the requirements of the content to be designed.
