What We're looking for:

We’re growing our global team and are on the lookout for enthusiastic Junior Software Engineers to help us build and maintain top-notch websites and an industry-leading SaaS application. In this role, you’ll join a supportive agile team where you’ll use the latest tools and technologies. You’ll get hands-on experience with cloud-native software development and continuous delivery, and you’ll be encouraged to make the most of AI tools to enhance your work.

About the Role:

As EROAD expands globally, we are seeking :

  • Architecture: You’ll be designing and architecting new features for the EROAD SaaS application, applying the 12-factor app methodology or similar approaches for distributed systems to ensure robust, scalable solutions.

  • Research: You are encouraged to continuously evaluate and recommend improvements to increase AI adoption, modernise toolchains, improve development processes, and adopt emerging cloud-native technologies. Your curiosity and drive to stay ahead will help keep our products cutting-edge.

  • Agile: You’ll embrace agile principles as part of your workflow, analyzing tasks, estimating effort and risk, and communicating team goals and progress to stakeholders. Your collaboration will help the team deliver value efficiently.

  • Development and Implementation: You’ll be building and executing application development tasks, following best practices, coding guidelines, version control, and automated build/test processes to ensure high-quality deliverables.

  • Testing and Deployment: You are responsible for ensuring quality by utilizing test automation suites, unit and integration tests, and driving scalability/performance testing. Your attention to detail will help us deliver reliable products.

  • Continuous Improvement: You’ll monitor system health, review performance, and recommend enhancements. As part of the team, you are empowered to build, test, deploy, and maintain our products, always striving for excellence and improvement.

  • On-Call Support: You’ll take part in the engineering on-call rotation to address technical issues that may arise outside of regular working hours. Participation will be as needed to meet business requirements, and you’ll receive compensation according to EROAD’s established policy.

Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience as a software developer using Java and/or C# •

  • Experience designing and developing web applications and reusable front-end components

  • Experience building and deploying cloud native solutions on platforms such as Azure and AWS

  • Competent at designing and developing software within a microservice architecture

  • Experience with end-to-end applications and front-end integration patterns within a microservice framework using RESTful APIs

  • Experience with RESTful API design and OpenAPI specifications

  • Experience with database design and optimising SQL queries

  • Automated testing design and implementation experience on different levels (including unit, component, and integration test automation)

  • Experience designing software to address non-functional requirements (e.g. security, scalability, observability and supportability)

  • Experience in developing against a version control system (e.g. Git)

  • Familiarity with Cloud architecture (e.g. AWS, Azure)

  • Experience using and developing with CI/CD pipelines

  • Experience with a trunk-based development approach

  • Experience using AI tools and/or creating AI agents to improve developer operations
