Job Summary
UltraDNS is revitalizing its engineering culture and adopting modern software design and delivery techniques. We are looking for intellectually passionate people who learn quickly, thrive in a fast-paced environment and stay current with the latest technologies. We want people who fit our emerging Agile/Devops culture, enjoy debating and learning from differing opinions, and have a high level of engagement. Strong programming and software design skills are essential, so we'll ask you to write code during most steps of the interview process.
What you will do
- Work within an Agile (Scrum/Kanban) team to develop services and applications.
- Write, debug, and maintain code under the guidance of senior team members (primarily in Java, with exposure to Python or other
- languages).
- Collaborate with teammates to design, develop, and test software solutions.
- Assist in the development and optimization of database schemas and queries for applications.
- Learn and utilize tools for automation, such as Jenkins, Gradle, JUnit, and Terraform.
- Participate in code reviews to improve skills and learn best practices.
- Monitor and troubleshoot software performance issues with team support.
- Stay updated with new technologies and share insights with your team.
- Make things better every day.
What you will have
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 1+ years of experience in software development (internships or personal projects are welcome).
- Familiarity with Java or a similar programming language (Python is a plus).
- Basic understanding of databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
- Exposure to Unix/Linux environments.
- Eager to learn about RESTful APIs, microservices, and cloud environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to ask questions and seek help.
