The Junior Software Developer is responsible for developing and maintaining robust software applications that support Full Sail University’s business needs under the guidance of senior technical leadership.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and Development
- Assist with Software Development: Contribute to the design, development, testing, and maintenance of software applications under the guidance of more experienced engineers.
- Write Code: Develop code for features and fixes according to specifications and coding standards.
- Support System Design: Aid in the implementation of software components based on design documents and guidance provided by senior team members.
- Identify and Fix Bugs: Assist in troubleshooting and debugging issues with supervision from more experienced engineers.
- Collaborate Effectively: Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver software solutions that meet project goals.
- Follow Security Best Practices: Ensure that applications appropriately control access to sensitive resources.
- Software Development Lifecycle
- Maintain Documentation: Create and update basic documentation for code and development processes as instructed.
- Participate in Code Reviews: Engage in code reviews by reviewing peers' code and receiving feedback to improve coding skills.
- Execute Tests: Write and run unit tests for the code developed, ensuring functionality and correctness.
- Engage in Agile Practices: Participate in agile development processes, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
