ASR International Corp is seeking a Junior Software Developer to join the ASR IT Systems Team at our Corporate Headquarters in Hauppauge, NY. This full-time, on-site, entry-level position offers an outstanding opportunity for a motivated individual to develop technical and professional skills while contributing to the design, development, and enhancement of business systems that support company operations and programs of national importance. Responsibilities
- Participate in the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of internal business systems, software applications, web applications, websites, integrations, and business process automation solutions, including Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) initiatives.
- Work with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate business needs into effective technical solutions that improve business operations and efficiency.
- Develop and maintain APIs, database queries, reports, and system integrations.
- Participate in software testing, code reviews, and quality assurance activities to ensure reliable and maintainable solutions.
- Apply secure coding and cybersecurity best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve software, application, and data-related issues.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, knowledge base articles, user guides, and training materials for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Research and evaluate new technologies, tools, and techniques to support continuous improvement and innovation.
- Provide technical support and assistance related to internally developed applications, business systems, and other IT initiatives as needed.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
- Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to continuously learn and improve in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Familiarity with software development practices and modern computing environments, including Git-based version control, SQL databases, APIs, Linux, cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS, virtualization, containerization, and secure coding principles.
- Knowledge of programming, scripting, automation, and software development concepts, including experience with at least one programming or scripting language.
- Hands-on experience with full-stack (front-end and back-end) modern web application and API development using technologies such as PHP, Python, JavaScript, and HTML/CSS.
- Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies independently and apply them to solve business problems.
- Must be a United States citizen, with the ability to pass a background investigation and obtain a security clearance as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with JavaScript frameworks / libraries such as React.js, Node.js, and Next.js is a plus.
- Experience / familiarity with business process automation and scripting for Microsoft 365, including Power Automate, SharePoint site design and development, and PowerShell / Python scripting using the Microsoft Graph API is a plus.
- Experience with prompt engineering and integration of Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools into business processes.
