Leidos is seeking a Junior SOC Operator to support the SCARS Program. The SCARS program helps the U.S. Air Force (USAF) develop a common architecture to integrate and standardize USAF aircraft training simulators used to develop highly skilled aircrew and operators.
Primary Responsibilities:
Works with and learns from the Cyber Operations Lead and Cybersecurity Team to accomplish the following:
- Analyzing and responding to software and hardware vulnerabilities.
- Investigating, documenting, and reporting on information security issues.
- Proactively research and monitor security information to identify potential threats.
- Assisting in the generation of system-level security documentation.
- Supports the development of Cyber Operations procedure documents.
- Support tier 1 helpdesk troubleshooting
- Schedule events as directed by the SOC or Cyber teams
- Knowledge and hands-on experience with security products such as Tenable and Splunk.
- Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Windows and Red Hat Linux operating systems.
- Participates in Incident Response and Continuity of Operation exercises as needed.
- Perform analysis and investigations, correlating events and data to detect security incidents.
- Document and update information in the Program’s ticketing system as needed.
- Keeping a current asset and software inventory for the program.
- Escalate validated and confirmed incidents to designated incident response team members.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with 0-2 years of experience. Additional years of related experience will be acceptable in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.
- US citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret or higher security clearance.
- CompTIA Security+ CE certification.
- Good verbal and written skills.
- Demonstrates strong work ethic, works well within a team, mission oriented, and takes personal pride in work.
- Ability to multi-task and function in a dynamic fast-paced environment.
- Ability to support off-hours as needed (outside of typical 9a-5p)
- Previous experience supporting a DoD system preferred but not required.

Pay Range:Pay Range $55,250.00 - $99,875.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
