As a RMR Sales Engineer you’ll contribute to the design and delivery of innovative automation solutions that will operate in complex, real‑world environments. You’ll work collaboratively with colleagues across departments supporting other Vanderlande regions in the disciplines of Sales Layout Engineering, Sales Engineering and Sales Consultancy. Role Responsibilities
In this role, you will support the development of Life-cycle plans and Revision, Modification and Retrofit (RMR) projects that are important to keep customers systems in perfect shape and to adapt it to them their needs. As a RMR Sales Engineer you are responsible to execute sales plans, consult customers and prepare concepts and pricing for complex RMR projects. You will do this by supporting, challenging and teaming up with internal stakeholders in pre-bid, bid and closing phases to jointly secure projects. You prepare the concept and pricing for the project and align with all internal and external parties involved (Pricing, Procurement, Planning, Engineering). After a project is won, you secure and organize a successful project kick off with the Service Project Manager. You should be comfortable and flexible to work on multiple projects simultaneously. In your role, you are also able to prepare and present convincingly, the technical content towards the customer.
Your responsibilities and activities will include:
- Co-define the winning sales strategy together with the Sales Manager and translate this strategy into a winning solution.
- Solve commercial / tactical issues and challenges directly with the Sales Manager.
- Translate customer needs into an overall solution, while understanding the customer processes and operations, the tender procedures and the different stakeholders.
- Responsible for (organizing) all sales engineering deliverables throughout the sales process, while involving different disciplines and technical experts to come to the best possible solution.
- Coordinate and lead the internal sales project team in line with the sales (bid) planning, while steering the team towards the winning solution considering the agreed sales strategy.
- Provide updates to senior management on the bid status and progress.
- Bring all aspects of the offer together (e.g. technical solution, planning, price, T&Cs) in a clear quotation matching the budgets calculated.
- Present the technical solution to the customer in an attractive and interactive way to show the customer’s value of our solution, matching with the customer’s needs.
- Ability to work on various projects in various sales phases simultaneously.
- Strong in listening and analysing customer requirements.
Please note: there will be some occasional travel expected with this role.

- Have a degree or equivalent qualification in an engineering field or a related discipline.
- Knowledge of mechanical design standards and safety requirements (experience with the Machinery Directive is beneficial but not essential).

- A structured approach to problem‑solving, with attention to detail and quality.
- The ability to communicate clearly and work effectively with others.
- Proven track record in material handling systems in Airports preferred.
- Proven track record with customer interaction; presenting, workshops etc. preferred.
