Job Summary
The Junior Reinsurance Claims Analyst supports the claims function by assisting in the processing, analysis, and settlement of reinsurance claims. The role involves reviewing claims documentation, ensuring compliance with treaty agreements, maintaining accurate records, and liaising with internal teams and external stakeholders such as brokers.
This position is ideal for an early-career professional looking to build technical expertise in reinsurance and claims management.
Key Responsibilities
Claims Processing & Administration
- Assist in the preparation, review, and processing of reinsurance claims
- Verify claim data against policy terms
- Maintain up-to-date claims records in internal systems
- Participate in special projects and any other duties as assigned
Analysis & Validation
- Review claim documentation for completeness and accuracy
- Ensure compliance with contract terms, claims procedures, and internal controls
- Identify discrepancies, missing information, or potential coverage issues
Stakeholder Support
- Liaise with internal underwriting, MIS and finance teams to gather required information.
- Respond to routine queries from brokers, and internal stakeholders
- Escalate complex issues or discrepancies to senior team members
Reporting & Compliance
- Support the preparation of claims reports and management information
- Ensure claims handling complies with internal procedures and regulatory requirements
- Assist with audits and data quality reviews
Required Skills & Qualifications
Essential
- Bachelor’s degree (finance, economics, insurance, mathematics, or related field preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic data analysis
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Entry-level experience in reinsurance claims
- Basic knowledge of reinsurance principles and terminology
- Experience with claims or policy administration systems
