We are looking for a Junior Quality & Manufacturing Engineer to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent college graduate or early-career professional who has a basic understanding of sheet metal fabrication, manufacturing processes, and engineering drawings and wants to develop a career in quality and manufacturing engineering.

This is a hands-on entry-level position. You will work directly with our manufacturing and quality teams to learn our processes, inspect parts, identify opportunities for improvement, and assist in developing consistent quality and inspection procedures.

You will also have the opportunity to support Del Medical's ongoing efforts to develop its ISO 9001 quality management system.

What You'll Do

• Assist with developing and documenting quality and inspection processes for our sheet metal fabrication operations.
• Inspect incoming materials, fabricated sheet metal parts, assemblies, and finished products.
• Perform First Article, in-process, and final inspections.
• Learn and apply inspection methods using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other measuring equipment.
• Read and interpret basic engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and GD&T.
• Develop an understanding of sheet metal manufacturing processes including laser cutting, punching, bending, forming, welding, and machining.
• Assist in creating inspection checklists, work instructions, procedures, and quality forms.
• Help identify non-conforming material and document quality issues.
• Work with Manufacturing and Engineering personnel to investigate problems and improve processes.
• Assist with root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Help establish consistent inspection and quality standards throughout the fabrication operation.
• Maintain accurate inspection and quality records.
• Assist with internal audits and quality system documentation.
• Support the development and implementation of processes needed for ISO 9001 certification.
• Assist with continuous improvement projects designed to improve quality, reduce defects, and increase manufacturing consistency.

What We're Looking For

• Recent college graduate or early-career professional with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to understand how parts are cut, bent, formed, welded, machined, and assembled.
• Ability to read basic engineering drawings.
• Basic understanding of dimensions, tolerances, and GD&T.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.
• Good computer skills, including Microsoft Excel.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Willingness to learn quality systems, inspection methods, and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to work effectively with production, engineering, and quality personnel.

Experience That Is a Plus

You don't need years of experience to be successful in this role. The following would be helpful:

• Internship or co-op experience in manufacturing or engineering.
• Experience working in a sheet metal fabrication shop.
• Exposure to quality inspection or quality control.
• Experience with CAD or engineering drawings.
• Familiarity with GD&T.
• Exposure to ISO 9001 or other quality management systems.
• Manufacturing, machining, welding, or fabrication experience.
