Job DescriptionAs the Junior Projects Designer you will provide commercial and project management support for opportunities within the Signature Projects segment, that requires project specific solutions.
Responsible for co-ordinating and planning of pre order activities working with internal and external customer to deliver the right outcome. This is a key role providing the interface between both internal and external teams to ensure that Schreder’s project obligations and commitments are delivered profitably, on time and in full.
Develop and maintain excellent relationships with both customers and internal / external stakeholders to ensure a collaborative approach that delivers positive and sustainable results.
Main responsibilities within the job:
- Work with the Signature Projects team and SLM’s to identify key opportunities that will require the delivery of signature solutions and services
- Provide site support and customer visits where required
- Produce quotations for signature projects and maintain through CRM
- Provide Lighting Calculations and create & provide visual renders and presentations where required
- Responsible for ensuring a consistent high level and quality delivery of signature project solutions, and provide site follow up to ensure all issues are complete and the project is handed over successfully – proactively communication with both internal and external customers throughout
- Identify the level of required activity, expertise and resource required to deliver solutions for these opportunities and implement a project plan – considering all factors, time, cost, resources
- Participate in the handover meeting to ensure that resources and requirements are fully identified to facilitate deliver on time, to cost and meets all customer requirements
- Identify, quantify and manage technical and contractual obligations and commercial risks on selected projects
- To professionally liaise with customers, internal and external stakeholders (including subcontractors), and attending meetings as required to develop relationships and provide a structured approach to project & solutions delivery to ensure that our obligations are met.
- To assist the project plan, monitor and track performance including delivery of project, budget and quality (including overseeing the site installation)
Knowledge and Skills:
- Experience in a similar role
- Lighting /product design experience
- Experience using D365 is desirable
- Excellent Communication - verbal and written with the ability to work with people at all levels.
- Commercial and Financial acumen
- Highly organised with the ability to prioritise a busy workload.
- Experience in working in a dynamic sales / commercial environment.
- Proven problem solving and analytical skills.
- Effective time management and be accountable for resolving issues independently
- Excellent attention to detail
- Believes in continuous improvement.
- Understanding of construction / infrastructure industry contracts and project management approaches together with knowledge of project, risk and value management is desirable
- The ability to develop and maintain excellent relationships with both customers and internal / external stakeholders to ensure a collaborative approach that delivers positive and sustainable results.
Qualifications
- Preference Engineering Degree - electronics, electromechanics, Lighting Design or similar level of experience
- At least 3 – 5 years of relevant experience
- Experience in technical project management, lighting, infrastructure projects, building work is a plus
- Basic to Intermediate Project Management experience (For example APM, Prince 2, MSP) or happy to work towards
- Able to travel to various locations across the UK
