Junior Project Manager

Job Description

A Junior Project Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the planning, execution, and completion of projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Efficient management of the of the Africa Projects
  • Management and monitoring of strategic deliverables via initiatives and projects
  • Reporting to the CSM regarding status of Projects
  • Project budgeting and financial control and monitoring across the projects
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation
  • Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
  • Report and escalate to management as needed
  • Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks
  • Establish and maintain relationships with the clients
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Meet with clients to take detailed ordering briefs and clarify specific requirements of each project
  • Delegate project tasks based on reporting staff members’ individual strengths, skill sets and experience levels
  • Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals
  • Meet budgetary objectives and make adjustments to project constraints based on financial analysis
  • Develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with clients as well as other staff members
  • Use and continually develop leadership skills
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • Oversee and manage project managers within Africa Clients
  • Plan and Manage releases across both Africa Clients
  • Produce Monthly/Weekly Reports for internal use and for Clients
  • Customer orientation feedback
  • Provide Continuous Improvements
  • Scheduling Retrospectives after Releases

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience

Professional Qualifications

  • Project Management Professional Agile/ (PMP) / PRINCE II certification is a plus

Years of Experience

  • 2 years Professional Experience based on the job requirements

Other requirements

  • Proven working experience in project management, strong focus on software solutions delivery
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Working knowledge of Agile methodology and terminology
  • Capable of hands-on problem solving, with ability to generate ideas and solutions
  • A positive and determined approach to researching and analysing new business opportunities

Education

Bachelor's Degree: Computer and Information Science (Required)
