We are in the High Voltage Product group within Hitachi Energy, a leading specialist for power distribution and transmission. In our unit, the Gas Insulated Switchgears (GIS) – based in Zürich-Oerlikon, development and production of different GIS products are managed globally. We ensure high reliability of our systems by using state-of-the-art development tools and methods.
We are looking for someone to strengthen our GIS Project Manager team here in Zürich-Oerlikon. You will become part of a global team with very diverse backgrounds and experience as well. The position offers a lot of personal and professional development opportunities with flexible work possibilities – home office within Switzerland along with international customer exposure. You will represent Hitachi Energy to our customers and manage GIS projects end to end.
How you’ll make an impact
Lead as a project manager and actively contribute to the project phases of handover from sales, project structuring and planning, engineering, procurement, manufacturing, FAT, delivery, installation, testing, handover to customer and ultimately closing
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and effectively communicate with all of them
Act as the main contact focal point for our international customers in daily communication, leading face to face customer meetings and factory acceptance tests to ensure customer satisfaction
Identify, qualify, quantify and manage project risks and ensure that all opportunities are identified and pursued
Effectively monitor and control project progress, use of resources and project financials in collaboration with supervisor
Responsible for change, claim & risk management of projects and financial reporting to controlling team
Your background
Bachelor’s degree of mechanical or electrical engineering or similar is a must
Basic knowledge of GIS substations
Knowledge of business administration is helpful
Associate PM certification (PMP or equivalent) is desirable
Excellent command of both spoken and written English is required, proficiency in German or any additional language is considered an asset
Strong communication, interpersonal skills
Well-structured and stress resistant, fast learner
