Responsibilities
As a Junior Project Leader, your responsibilities involve:
- Overseeing the complete lifecycle of Baggage Handling System Project Execution, ensuring strict adherence to Vanderlande's budget, timeline, and quality standards.
- Cultivating robust communication channels with onsite teams, actively addressing customer needs, and fostering enduring, trusting relationships.
- Exploring and identifying innovative opportunities to enhance project outcomes and overall results.
- Making substantial contributions to the development and implementation of pioneering project management methodologies and tools.
- Playing an active and pivotal role in the continuous enhancement of project management processes within the Vanderlande framework as a Project Leader.
In this role, you will contribute to a variety of tasks across various project phases, including, but not limited to:
- Pre-Project Phase:
- Collaborating on proposal development with the sales team and maintaining consistent client communication.
- Formulating detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocations.
- Defining project scope, budget, and necessary resource prerequisites.
- Identifying, evaluating, and proactively managing potential project risks.
- Project Execution Phase:
- Managing Define Stage activities, encompassing project setup, meticulous planning, and comprehensive Order File management.
- Effectively monitoring and overseeing project budget, ensuring efficient expenditure control.
- Coordinating procurement efforts for essential equipment and materials.
- Managing the installation and commissioning of Airport Baggage Handling System (BHS) equipment.
- Resolving technical issues encountered during installation and testing phases.
- Conducting routine project progress reviews and leading pertinent meetings.
- Preparing and presenting comprehensive project reports and updates to stakeholders.
- Closeout Phase:
- Conducting thorough project handover procedures and providing training to airport personnel/Customers.
- Administering project warranty and service contracts, ensuring effective oversight.
- Supporting project closeout activities and associated documentation.
- Managing project documentation, ensuring alignment with relevant regulations and standards.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or project Management. (Having a PMP certification would be an additional advantage.)
- 3 to 5 years of proven experience in project management, ideally within Material Handling/Airport industries as Project Leader/Coordinator or Manager.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and motivational abilities.
- Fluency in both Arabic and English languages is essential.
- Strong critical thinking skills with a determined approach to managing challenging projects.
- Proficiency in building and nurturing professional client relationships.
- Adaptability and ease in an international & multicultural project-oriented environment.
- Proficiency in project management software like MS Project, Primavera.
- Familiarity with relevant BHS standards (e.g., IATA, ICAO) and international work exposure will be an add on.
Travel:
This position may require travel to project sites as necessary for project execution and support.
Candidates should be prepared to travel as part of their responsibilities. Travel requirements will vary based on project needs and locations.
