We are looking for our next Junior Product Manager based in Singapore. Supported by and reporting to the Head of Product, you will be joining a friendly and growing team to disrupt the Index space and participate in the next phase of our growth.

What will you do?

As part of the Product Management team, you will support the team’s initiatives globally with a focus on Options or Multi-assets/Futures indices, analytics, and tooling’s. This is an exciting opportunity to join the team as a product manager, providing MerQube’s clients with indexing and technology solutions. This multifaceted role plays a crucial role in supporting the development, launch, and management of products within our organization. The Junior PM will work closely with senior product managers, cross-functional teams, and stakeholders to ensure that the product aligns with market needs, company goals, and user requirements.

As a Junior Product Manager, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to assist in the development and delivery of innovative products that meet market needs and drive customer satisfaction. You will work closely with senior product managers, engineers, designers, and marketing teams to help execute the product strategy, monitor product performance, and support the entire product lifecycle.

 Responsibilities include:

  • Client Project Delivery:

    • Oversee the end-to-end delivery of client projects, ensuring they meet the defined scope, timeline, and quality standards.
    • Break down complex project requests into manageable tasks, estimate costs
    • Collaborate closely with Financial Engineering, Platform Engineering and Operations teams to ensure smooth execution.

    Product Strategy & Research:

    • Assist in market research, user feedback collection, and competitor analysis to help identify product opportunities and trends.
    • Collaborate in defining product vision, strategy, and roadmap based on business objectives and user needs.
    • Work with the senior product team to refine product features, target user personas, and value propositions.

    Product Development:

    • Support the product development process by writing product requirements documents (PRDs), methodologies, and user stories.
    • Liaise with engineering, design, and quality assurance teams to ensure smooth execution of product initiatives.
    • Help prioritize and manage the product backlog, ensuring alignment with business goals.
    • Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives to track progress and address challenges.

    Launch & Post-Launch:

    • Assist in the coordination of product launches, including collaboration with marketing teams on go-to-market strategies and campaigns.
    • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) post-launch to measure product success and user adoption.
    • Help identify and resolve issues that arise during the product lifecycle, including gathering user feedback for future iterations.

    User Experience & Customer Feedback:

    • Conduct usability testing and collect feedback from users to ensure product features deliver value and improve the customer experience.
    • Collaborate with the customer support team to address customer issues and identify areas for product improvement.

What the position requires:

  • Undergraduate degree required. Masters degree in a relevant field or progress towards a CFA Charterholder status a plus
  • 1-5 years of relevant work experience in financial services industry
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills are essential, comfortable to deal with large datasets
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skill. The position requires interacting with sophisticated clients. The ability to learn and ask questions is paramount
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team. Candidate can effectively influence others and gain their consensus when needed
  • Demonstrated ability to handle steep learning curves; Candidate should be very comfortable dealing with ambiguity and uncertainty

Preferred Qualifications

  • Programming skills (Python, R, SQL, VBA, others) are desirable
  • Knowledge of financial packages such as FactSet, Capital IQ, Bloomberg, Barra, Axioma, etc. is desirable
