We are currently seeking a Junior Product Compliance Engineer to join our global Product Compliance Team, composed of four professionals and operating within the Legal & Regulatory Affairs Department. This role will support regulatory, safety, and sustainability initiatives across international markets, with a focus on products manufactured for the cosmetics, beauty, fragrance, and personal care industries.

The Junior Product Compliance Engineer will ensure that products manufactured and commercialized by Silgan Dispensing Systems comply with applicable regulatory, chemical safety, sustainability, and customer-specific requirements worldwide.

The Junior Product Compliance Engineer supports global product compliance activities throughout the product lifecycle, helping to ensure that products manufactured and commercialized by Silgan Dispensing Systems meet applicable regulatory, chemical safety, sustainability, and customer-specific requirements worldwide.

In this role, the successful candidate will collaborate closely with internal teams, customers, suppliers, regulatory experts, and international stakeholders across different regions, supporting compliance initiatives in a global business environment.

Job Responsibilities

Regulatory Compliance

  • Evaluate products and raw materials against applicable international regulations and customer requirements.
  • Assess supplier documentation and chemical composition data to verify compliance.
  • Support the preparation and maintenance of product compliance documentation, declarations, technical files, and customer-specific regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on existing and future products.
  • Identify, evaluate, and mitigate potential compliance risks affecting the product portfolio.

Customer & Supplier Support

  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding product composition, regulatory compliance, material safety, and sustainability requirements.
  • Coordinate and manage regulatory requests from customers.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to obtain, review, and maintain compliance data and supporting documentation.
  • Act as a key compliance contact for internal teams, customers, and external stakeholders.

Sustainability & Product Stewardship

  • Support initiatives related to sustainable sourcing, recyclability, circular economy, and environmental compliance.
  • Contribute to product stewardship activities and sustainability-driven projects.
  • Assist in evaluating materials against current and emerging sustainability requirements.

Process Improvement

  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of product compliance systems and databases.
  • Analyze compliance processes and identify opportunities to increase efficiency and data quality.
  • Promote best practices and help drive a proactive compliance culture across the organization.

Requirements & Skills

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Science or a related field is required.
  • Previous experience of 1-2 years in Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Product Compliance, or a similar role is preferred.
  • Recent graduates holding a Master's degree in the above-mentioned fields will also be considered, even without prior professional experience.
  • Candidates with a Bachelor's degree and previous experience in the same disciplines may also be considered.

Nice to have: familiarity with product and chemical regulatory requirements, including:

  • EU regulations such as REACH, CLP, Cosmetics Regulation, and Food Contact Materials legislation.
  • US regulations such as TSCA, FDA, EPA/state-level chemical programs, FIFRA, Proposition 65, and CPSC requirements.
  • Similar international regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience with GHS, Dangerous Goods classifications, HTS classifications, and other material classification schemes.
  • Knowledge of emerging global regulatory topics related to per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) would be considered an advantage.
  • Advanced/Fluent English proficiency is required. The role involves daily interaction with international stakeholders, participation in global meetings and projects, and the preparation of technical and regulatory documentation in English.
