Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a Junior Procurement Specialist to join our team to assist with vendor life cycle, onboarding, contracting, performance monitoring, relationship building and contract renewals. This position can be based in most US-based office locations.
Additional responsibilities include the following:
- Perform all responsibilities within GHD Procurement Guidelines and ensure relevant processes and procedures are followed
- Prepare and submit purchase orders for goods and services consistent with contract requirements
- Review purchase orders for compliance in accordance with GHD Procurement Guidelines
- Assist with vendor onboarding and prequalification
- Provide effective customer service to internal and external customers
- Work closely with the projects team to understand details of procurement requirements
- Negotiate pricing and business terms and, when appropriate, coordinate with Legal Department to minimize risk
- Engaging and discussing Environmental, Sustainable and Governance (ESG) with vendors
- Assist with Sustainable Procurement reporting and analysis
- Accurately enter data in vendor management and procurement systems
- Liaise with suppliers regarding delivery or goods and services
- Initiate and negotiate Framework Agreements with preferred vendors
- Work with Accounts Payable to resolve discrepancies between purchase orders and vendor invoices
- Review and closeout purchase orders
- Maintain Procurement files
- Completes purchasing request and transactions

What you’ll bring to the team:
- Degree or certification in business administration, procurement, finance, or related field preferred
- Previous experience utilizing a contract management and/or procure to pay system
- Experience with Salesforce and BST cost accounting software application is an asset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products including Outlook, Teams, Word and Excel
- Strong communication skills and problem-solving skills
- Strong understanding of contractual agreements
- Ability to prioritize and multitask
- Proactive attitude towards work, teamwork, and cooperation
- Bilingual in English and French is considered an asset

- Paid time off – Our PTO benefit is designed to provide eligible employees with a period of rest and relaxation, sick, and personal time throughout the year. PTO starts at 16 days per year and increases with years of service
- Holiday Pay - Holiday pay is provided for eligible employees. GHD observes 9 holidays per year. Holiday pay will be based on the regular set schedule for the employee
- Wellness Benefit- Regular full-term employees are eligible to participate in the wellness reimbursement program. GHD will reimburse 50% of the cost of the following to maximum of $250.00 reimbursement annually for such items as: Health club membership fees, home exercise equipment purchases, Bicycles, Race, run & marathon entrance fees, Smoking cessation programs, Weight loss programs (i.e.—Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig), Fitbits and Fitness Tracking devices
Salary Range: $23.00 - $31.00 based on experience and location.
