As portfolio manager you will be part of the Aegon AM Manager and Selection team. This team is responsible for selecting the best investment managers worldwide. The Private Markets team specializes in selecting Private Debt and Private Equity managers. As such, the portfolio managers’ main responsibility will be sourcing, selecting and monitoring Private Market managers.
We are currently looking for a junior portfolio manager, to support the team with these tasks.
Your responsibilities will include:- Assisting other team members with selection and monitoring of Private Debt and Equity managers;
- Contribute to reporting for clients on our Private Markets portfolios;
- Administrative tasks, including tracking the valuations and cash flows of the invested managers;
- Contribute to the integration of ESG and impact themes in the investment process;
- Contribute to the overall manager selection and monitoring process of the team by updating our manager database and other analytical investment tools;
- Develop and improve relationships with other departments within AAM;
Who will be your new colleagues?
The team manages a wide range of investment strategies. The overall Manager and Selection team consists of 15 people divided over three teams (Equity & Fixed Income, Private Markets and Real Estate) and manages over EUR 35 bn in assets. You will become part of the Private Markets team. The team is located in the Netherlands, with the position based in Groningen.
As Portfolio Manager Private Markets we expect you to have a pro-active working approach, a strong drive and sense of responsibility. The investment approach is very team-driven and therefore you must be communicative and a true team player. Furthermore you:
- Have a master’s degree in Economics or comparable and affinity with investment theory;
- Are proficient in Dutch and English;
- Are willing to work in Groningen, as most of the team in based there. There is flexibility to work from home part of the week or occasionally at the head office at Schiphol;
- Have completed the post-graduate course CFA/CAIA or VBA or are willing to complete one of these courses;
- Are accurate, structured and have a well-organized way of working;
- Are outspoken and take ownership;
- Have excellent analytical insight and an eye for detail;
- Good sense of humor
Compensation level depend upon an applicant’s qualifications and will be determined by hiring supervisors/managers and HR
