Hudson River Trading (HRT) is seeking a Junior Portfolio Finance Trader to join our PostTrade team with a focus on European markets. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to learn the inner workings of our highly successful automated trading strategies, tackle complex problems, and make an immediate, tangible impact with outstanding room for growth. As part of a technical and highly experienced team, you will receive direct mentorship and develop your industry experience as well as your quantitative and coding skillsets.
The ideal candidate for this role will be an avid learner with a background in finance and an interest in securities financing and automated trading.
Responsibilities
- Effectively manage operational matters (securities borrowing and lending, locates, dividends, fails, buy-ins, as well as prime and synthetic financing).
- Communicate daily with counterparties, prime brokers, internal traders, and various internal operations support teams in multiple regions.
- Manage the distribution and integrity of all financing costs charged by prime brokers and other liquidity providers to internal trading desks.
- Optimize efficiencies across prime brokers and HRT entities to reduce costs and capital usage.
- Drive European dividend management across a variety of custodians and products.
- Enable trading across new markets and products.
- Document processes and procedures.
Qualifications
- 2-4 years of market experience within equity finance, portfolio finance, or buy-side treasury function.
- Strong knowledge of EMEA equity financing markets, prime brokerage funding models, FX, and equity synthetics.
- Analytical mindset, curiosity, and strong cross-functional communication skills.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and other technical skills, as well as a keen interest to further develop these skillsets.
- Proven ability to maintain composure in stressful situations.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a desire to maintain accuracy while processing large amounts of information within finite timelines.
