About us

Seccl is the Octopus-owned embedded investment platform that’s on a mission to helping more people to invest – and invest well.

We’re B-Corp certified with an amazing product-market fit, impressive early traction and the potential to transform an outdated industry, for the better. We've been growing fast and will scale even faster over the next few years.

We’re also proud to be part of Octopus, the £multi billion group that's on a mission to breathe new life into broken industries, through companies like Octopus Energy, Octopus Investments and Octopus Money.

Check out the Seccl website for the latest on our products and our mission to shape the future of investments.

The role

Are you a detail oriented and motivated individual looking to gain valuable experience in a fast paced financial services environment? We're looking for Junior operations analysts to join our Transfers team in Edinburgh on a 6 month fixed term contract.

This is an excellent opportunity to build your operational expertise, develop new skills, and make a real impact as part of a collaborative and supportive team. Whether you're starting your career or looking to broaden your experience, you'll play an important role in helping us deliver an outstanding service to our clients.

In this role, you'll help ensure the smooth and efficient processing of transfers by managing communications, maintaining accurate records, and supporting the delivery of a high quality service. You'll work from our Edinburgh office alongside experienced colleagues who will support your development while you contribute to the success of the team from day one.

On a typical day you will be…
  • Managing communications between transferring pension and investment schemes and Seccl.

  • Speaking with ceding and receiving schemes by phone and email to progress transfer activity.

  • Maintaining accurate internal client and scheme records.

  • Providing timely updates to firms, ensuring they are kept informed of transfer progress.

  • Ensuring submissions are completed accurately and within agreed service levels.

  • Responding to transfer related queries from across the business in a timely and professional manner.

  • Supporting other operational teams and business areas as required, helping to deliver a seamless client experience.

This 6 month contract offers the chance to gain hands-on experience within a growing business, work with a knowledgeable and supportive team, and make a meaningful contribution from your very first day.

This role’s for you if...
  • You have a willingness to learn about products, technology and investment wrappers.

  • You have experience in a fast paced environment where juggling multiple tasks simultaneously is common.

  • You have a willingness to learn more about, and take ownership of, processes and customer outcomes.

  • Enjoy working with numbers, are assiduous with a high attention to detail, and a solid problem solver.

  • You have strong communication, organisational skills and an eye for accuracy

  • You are a team player who is customer and delivery focussed and wants to gain new skills on the journey.

This role isn’t for you if...
  • You rely on a lot of top-down direction. Here, you’ll have a lot of freedom and ownership of your role, and you’ll be expected to shape your own progression

  • You’re not comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Our speed and scalability are what set us apart; you need to be able to act quickly and think on your feet

  • You struggle to follow through on ideas. We value people who do what they say they will. If you care about something, you have the freedom here to make it happen

  • You don’t like change. You’ll get on great here if you relish the ambiguity of rapid growth and are willing to embrace uncertainty

What’s in it for you…

What We Do

Seccl is the Octopus-owned embedded investment platform that’s helping more people to invest – and invest well. Our sector is being held back by old tech, dismal processes and misaligned interests. Together they create pointless complexity for financial planning and investment professionals, and provide outdated, overpriced experiences for customers. We started afresh, with a low-cost, hyper-efficient and (genuinely) API-first technology infrastructure, which supports firms at the forefront of our changing industry. Working around a principle of collaborative innovation, our technology and operations power the investment platforms of some of the UK’s most forward-thinking financial planning and wealth management firms, including P1 and Radiant. They also help ambitious, fast-growth technology businesses – such as GoHenry, Penfold and Crowdcube – to launch and maintain their investment propositions more quickly and affordably than ever before. A regulated custodian and ISA/SIPP provider, we have the disruptive mindset and ambitious mission to shake things up, along with the commitment and substance to not screw them up. We’re proud to be part of Octopus, the £12.5 billion group that's on a mission to breathe new life into broken industries, through companies like Octopus Energy, Octopus Investments and Octopus Ventures.
