Role: Junior Network Engineer

Reports to: Hosting & Network Infrastructure Manager

Location: Leeds, based in the office 3 days a week

Hours: 39 hours per week

Salary: £26,538.49 - £30,000, depending on experience

We're looking for a Junior Network Engineer to join our Infrastructure team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for networking and IT infrastructure who is looking to build their technical skills in a hands-on environment. Working alongside experienced engineers, you'll support the day-to-day operation of our network, helping to maintain critical business services while developing your knowledge of enterprise networking technologies.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting and maintaining the organisation's core network infrastructure.

  • Assisting with network maintenance, upgrades, and project activities.

  • Supporting the corporate network, including firewalls, switches, and wireless technologies.

  • Investigating and resolving network tickets escalated from the Desktop Support team.

  • Monitoring network performance and alerting systems, escalating issues where appropriate.

  • Assisting with firmware updates, hardware upgrades, and hardware replacements.

  • Supporting disaster recovery testing and maintaining network documentation.

  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the network team.

  • Developing technical knowledge and skills through hands-on experience and collaboration with senior engineers.

  • Organised and able to manage workloads effectively.

  • Experience of IT support environments and networking equipment would be advantageous.

  • Exposure to Cisco networking technologies would be beneficial.

  • Ability to follow processes and produce clear documentation.

  • A positive, proactive approach and a desire to build a career in network engineering.

  • Flexibility to travel occasionally to other business locations if required.
