Leidos is looking for a Junior Network Administrator to support a large U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) program. The Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) is responsible for enforcing federal antitrust laws and promoting fair competition in the marketplace. As a Network Administrator, you will play a key role in assisting with the maintenance and monitoring of the organization’s network infrastructure. You will work closely with senior network engineers and IT operations teams to ensure the network is functioning efficiently and securely. You will be responsible for performing routine network monitoring, troubleshooting, and providing support for network-related issues using tools such as Nagios, Cisco Prime, Cisco ISE, and Splunk. This work is located onsite in the DC area.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist in monitoring the performance and availability of network devices and systems using Nagios and Splunk.

Respond to network alerts, investigate issues, and escalate problems as necessary.

Troubleshoot network issues related to devices, connectivity, and performance, and assist in resolving them promptly.

Support the administration of Cisco Prime for network device monitoring and management.
-
Help configure and maintain network device settings and configurations using Cisco Prime.

Assist in generating reports on network performance and device health using Cisco Prime.

Assist with configuring and maintaining Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) for network access control, security policies, and guest network management.

Support the enforcement of security policies and network segmentation practices.

Perform basic tasks like device firmware upgrades, patch management, and configuration backups.

Document network configurations, changes, and issues to ensure accurate record-keeping.

Generate regular reports on network performance, uptime, and security incidents for internal IT teams and management.

Update network diagrams and documentation as changes are made to the infrastructure.
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field with 2+ years of relevant experience. Relevant certifications or equivalent experience may substitute for formal education.

2+ years of experience in a network administration or IT support role, with exposure to network monitoring tools and technologies.

Basic experience with network monitoring tools such as Nagios and Splunk.

Familiarity with Cisco Prime for network management and device monitoring.

Understanding of Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) for managing network access control and security policies.

Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP, SNMP).

Experience with network security tools and best practices.

Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot basic network issues and escalate to senior engineers as needed.

Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and document processes and solutions.
Desirable Skills:
-
Familiarity with wireless networking and Cisco wireless solutions.

Basic knowledge of firewalls, VPNs, and network security best practices.

Exposure to cloud networking and integration with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.
-
Certifications: Certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or CompTIA Network+ are preferred.

Pay Range:Pay Range $57,850.00 - $104,575.00
