RWDI is seeking a skilled and dynamic professional to join the Kuala Lumpur office. The successful candidate will provide consulting services across the APAC region, specializing in wind-induced microclimate effects, wind loading on structures, cladding wind pressures, and building performance.
This role offers the opportunity to work on complex and innovative projects while collaborating with multidisciplinary experts across the region. Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to and, where appropriate, take a lead technical role within project teams to ensure quality of analysis and reporting.
- Coordinate internal and external stakeholders to plan and deliver pedestrian wind studies using desk-based assessments, computational wind engineering, and wind tunnel testing methodologies.
- Provide technical advice and consulting support to clients on wind-related design challenges.
- Communicate complex technical concepts and findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Maintain awareness of relevant industry standards, codes, guidelines, and engineering best practices.
- Apply appropriate QA/QC processes to ensure technical accuracy and quality.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Environmental, Architectural, Aerospace, Mechanical, Structural/Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 2 to 5 years of experience in environmental consulting, engineering consulting, or a related technical field.
- Strong understanding of fluid flow physics and wind engineering principles.
- Strong report writing and technical communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a consulting environment.
- Experience working across multiple time zones and remote teams.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, coordination, and consultation skills, with the ability to drive projects forward and resolve technical challenges.
Preferred Experience
- Wind engineering experience.
- Postgraduate qualifications.
- Professional accreditation (e.g., CPEng, RPEN).
- Programming or scripting skills such as Python, MATLAB, C#, VBA, or C++.
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks, planning guidelines, and technical requirements.
