Job Summary
Are you a recent graduate looking to start your career in the exciting field of Aerospace and Defense? KBR is looking for a highly self-motivated Mechanical Engineering graduate to design and document modifications for multiple US DoD Customers in a fast-paced environment. The selected candidate will, under supervision, create mechanical designs, drawings, and applicable Mechanical Engineering documentation to support multiple aircraft
Roles and Responsibilities
- Under direct supervision, independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications.
- Assists more senior Mechanical Engineers in the design of larger and more complex design tasks which involve conventional types of plans, investigations and surveys with relatively few complex features.
- Assists more senior Mechanical Engineers in the performance of on-site Engineering Surveys of customer aircraft
- Under direct supervision, supports installations of new and modified equipment onto existing customer aircraft
Basic Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited degree program
- 0 to 3 years experience designing and documenting Mechanical Systems
- Existing SECRET clearance, or ability to obtain a SECRET clearance, is required
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Solid Works
- Ability to read and interpret typical Mechanical Engineering documentation (i.e. mechanical drawings, weight and balance reports, structural loads analyses, etc.)
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Ability to read and apply Military, ASME, ASE Specifications as they relate to Mechanical Design
- Knowledge of GD&T practices and application
- Experience PDM or other PLM tools
- Experience with US Army aviation
