About the Role
We are looking for a Junior Localization Engineer to join our Global Localization Engineering team. You will work alongside our Localization Engineers and Project Managers to support the localization of video games across a wide range of platforms.

In this role, you’ll play a key part in supporting the day-to-day requirements of the Project Managers and help the team to identify and resolve technical bottlenecks in localization workflows.

A core part of your responsibility will be to assist the team in their mission to increase automation and efficiency across project workflows.

You’ll learn how to identify the root causes of issues in localization workflows and help the team develop effective, scalable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day technical support to Localization Project Managers
  • Assist in identifying pain points in existing workflows and propose areas for automation or improvement
  • Support setup of tools, environments, and file conversions for localization projects
  • Help extract localizable content and prepare files for translation
  • Troubleshoot basic issues related to translation assets and tools
  • Collaborate with senior engineers on tool development and script maintenance
  • Document recurring issues or inefficiencies for further analysis by the engineering team
  • Participate in testing and rollout of new tools or process updates
  • Ensure project data integrity and compliance with client requirements
  • Help maintain automation scripts and contribute to ongoing tool development efforts

Requirements
  • University degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent experience
  • Basic knowledge or a strong interest in learning about markup languages (e.g., XML, HTML)
  • Basic understanding or strong interest in using regular expressions to extract text patterns
  • Basic knowledge or interest in learning to use CAT tools (memoQ, Phrase, CrowdIn, etc.)
  • Basic knowledge or interest in learning about localization processes and multilingual file handling
  • A service-oriented mindset and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English with both technical and non-technical colleagues
  • A desire to grow and contribute to a global team
  • Experience with the MS Office Suite, or Google Workspace

Desirable

  • Familiarity with data analysis or SQL
  • Knowledge of a wide variety of File Formats
  • Some experience or a strong interest in programming and scripting (e.g., Python, C#, VBA etc)
  • Understanding of internationalization (i18n) concepts
  • A passion for automation and scalable solutions

The gross annual salary for this position is about € 22,000.
