Job Description

Assists in the development, review, and implementation of investment plans covering fixed income, equity, property, foreign exchange portfolios, and economic outlooks. Conducts investment research, monitors developments in financial markets, and liaises with the legal team and accountants to assess the legal implications of investment decisions. Collects and interprets data, monitors portfolio performance, and prepares reports to support portfolio management activities.

Responsibilities:

Financial Management and Control

Monitor expenditure against approved budgets within established financial systems and report variances, trends, and potential risks to management for review and action.

Financial Policies, Guidelines, and Protocols

Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of financial policies, guidelines, and protocols to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and sound financial management practices.

Data Collection and Analysis

Collect, collate, and analyse financial and investment-related data using established tools, methodologies, and reporting formats to support decision-making and portfolio management activities.

Document Preparation

Prepare, coordinate, and maintain complex documents, presentations, and reports using standard office software and other business applications. Gather, analyse, and summarise information for periodic and ad hoc reporting requirements.

Investment Management

Support investment management activities by monitoring portfolio performance, market developments, and investment risks, and by preparing analytical and ad hoc reports using established processes, procedures, and investment frameworks.

Solutions Analysis

Interpret financial, economic, and investment data to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and potential solutions, applying sound judgement within established policies, procedures, and precedents.

Internal Communications

Support the effective use of internal communication channels and systems by providing guidance, information, and assistance to colleagues and stakeholders.

Internal Client Relationship Management

Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders by delivering professional, responsive, and high-quality service, with support and guidance from senior colleagues where required.

Data Management

Promote the effective use of data management systems by providing user support, maintaining data quality standards, and assisting with data governance and reporting requirements.

Personal Capability Building

Enhance professional capabilities through participation in performance assessments, development planning, formal and informal learning, coaching, and relevant professional accreditation programmes. Maintain awareness of industry developments, emerging technologies, regulatory changes, and best practices through continuous professional development, conferences, and specialist publications.
