TWD is currently seeking an Junior/Intermediate Project Engineer/Manager in our Pittsburgh, PA office. 
Position Overview:
As a Project Engineer/Manager in our Pittsburgh office, you will support and manage the execution of projects within the energy and infrastructure sectors, coordinating technical, commercial, schedule, and client requirements from project initiation through completion. Depending on experience level, you will contribute to or lead multidisciplinary project teams, manage project deliverables and resources, support client relationships, and help ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with established quality and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management & Delivery

  • Support or manage projects from planning and initiation through design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout, as applicable.
  • Develop and maintain project scopes, schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and implement appropriate mitigation and corrective actions.
  • Coordinate project deliverables to ensure they meet contractual requirements, technical standards, schedules, budgets, and quality expectations.
  • Support or lead project status reporting, forecasting, and internal project reviews.
  • Coordinate project change management, including scope changes, schedule impacts, and commercial considerations.
Technical & Engineering Coordination
  • Coordinate engineering activities across multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Work with engineering disciplines to establish project requirements, priorities, interfaces, and deliverables.
  • Review technical deliverables for alignment with project scope, applicable standards, client requirements, and quality expectations.
  • Support technical problem-solving and resolution of project issues.
  • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, suppliers, and other third parties as required.
  • Maintain an appropriate level of technical involvement based on project needs and individual experience.
Client & Stakeholder Management
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with clients, project stakeholders, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Participate in client meetings, project reviews, presentations, and progress discussions.
  • Communicate project status, risks, opportunities, and technical or commercial issues clearly and proactively.
  • Support preparation of proposals, scopes of work, estimates, and other business development materials.
  • Help identify opportunities for additional services and support long-term client relationships.
Project Controls & Commercial Management
  • Track project financial performance, including budgets, forecasts, expenditures, and earned progress as applicable.
  • Support or manage project invoicing, cost tracking, and financial reporting.
  • Assist with contract administration and compliance with project terms and conditions.
  • Monitor project risks, assumptions, constraints, and dependencies.
  • Maintain accurate project records and documentation.
Quality, Safety & Team Leadership
  • Promote a strong culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement across project activities.
  • Follow established project management, quality assurance, and risk management processes.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and provide direction and support to project personnel as appropriate to experience level.
  • Mentor and support junior team members as appropriate.
  • Participate in lessons-learned activities and contribute to improvements in project delivery practices.
Qualifications & Skills
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Junior level: Less than 3 years of relevant engineering, project engineering, project coordination, or project management experience.
  • Intermediate level: 4–9 years of relevant engineering, project engineering, project coordination, or project management experience.
  • Experience supporting or managing projects within the energy, power, utilities, industrial, infrastructure, or related sectors is preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license, Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, or other relevant professional certification is preferred where applicable.
Project & Technical Skills
  • Understanding of project management principles, engineering processes, project controls, and multidisciplinary project delivery.
  • Ability to develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, scopes, and deliverables.
  • Familiarity with project management, scheduling, document management, and discipline-specific engineering software and tools.
  • Ability to review technical information, engineering documentation, specifications, and project requirements.
  • Understanding of applicable industry standards, regulations, and quality requirements.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines.

  • Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, technical teams, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
