Position: Junior Ingredient Qualification Specialist - Granada
Purpose of the Job
This position assists R&D ingredient qualification process for both liquid and powder nutritional products. This includes but not limited to:
Assisting on the relationship and technical discussions with ingredients vendors.
Under supervision:
- executing ingredient qualification experiments, data analysis and results evaluation.
- to elaborate conclusions and determining future experiments which are necessary for final qualification to comply with all functional requirements, optimum quality and financial margin as critical considerations.
Among other, qualification efforts will involve the sourcing and evaluation of new ingredients in multiple formulation matrixes and process to guarantee interchangeability along Abbott Nutrition products portfolio and manufacturing facilities.
This position will also assist on report writing, new ingredient specification setting, and technical information transfer in collaborating with QA, Regulatory, Medical, and other functional areas.
The Jr ingredient qualification specialist will also work closely with the food technologist in updating product related documents and formulation systems around ingredient qualification.
The expectations are that the Jr ingredient specialist will have basic knowledge of product formulation and thereby support food technologist in this role.
Skills/Experience Requirements
The position requires basic knowledge of formulation and processing aspects of liquid and/or powdered nutritional products as well as basic understanding of nutritional, chemical, physical, and oxidative properties and stability of nutritional product.
Good scientific math, writing, and verbal communication skills are required. Coordination and organizational skills are also required.
Education Requirements
FP. or BS. in Nutrition and Food Science Technology or related scientific field is preferred.
1-3 years progressive and practical related experience could be sufficient to demonstrate equivalency.
English C1-C2 - Mandatory.
Location-Granada.
Significant Work Activities & Conditions
Conduct batch manufacture of small pilot studies.
Complete qualification tasks assigned to Granada Tech Center in Devex.
Write technical justifications to support ingredient qualifications.
