Junior Infrastructure Engineer- IN Office role

Job purpose:

A strong and broad ranging technical background is essential as this is a hands-on role, you’ll collaborate with a fun and agile team of highly motivated individuals with a passion for all things tech-related to architect, implement, test and continuously deliver new features and products to our customers.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Monitoring and performing on-going maintenance on servers and network equipment.
• Providing IT support to staff and customers, as well as responding to server and network issues.
• Carry out system administration tasks such as software installation/updates, security patches, and hardware maintenance.
• Upgrading internal system components, including CPUs, memory, hard drives.
• Running hardware diagnostics and troubleshooting faulty equipment.
• Develop standards, procedures and knowledge articles (KB) for carrying out systems and network operations.
• Advising on the procurement of new equipment.
• Assist senior engineers in designing/modifying network systems and application infrastructure.
• Maintain accurate inventory of equipment, and devices.
• Deployment and configuration of new server and network infrastructure.
• Participate in out-of-business hours infrastructure maintenance and provide emergency support for critical incidents.

Minimum requirements:

• Good understanding of Microsoft and Linux O/S and associated products.
• Network troubleshooting and solid understanding of DNS.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Able to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment and maintain attention to details
• Knowledge of data center environments, servers, and network equipment.
• Driver’s licence and own transport

Desirable Skills

• Virtualisation experience
• Understanding of networking protocols and switch configuration experience.
• Knowledge of cabling connectivity requirements, copper and fibre.
• CompTIA A+ / Network+ Certificate or Similar
• Firewall & security Knowledge.
