Key Responsibilities:
Drive biosafety and laboratory safety excellence by supporting implementation of standards, ensuring compliance, and promoting safe and sustainable lab operations.
Strengthen risk management and prevention by conducting inspections, supporting risk assessments, and proactively identifying safety risks in laboratory environments.
Enable a strong incident management framework by supporting investigation of HSE incidents and near misses, driving root cause analysis, and ensuring timely corrective and preventive actions.
Enhance continuous improvement in safety performance through trend analysis, lessons learned, and embedding best practices across laboratory operations.
Collaborate closely with scientists, laboratory teams, and HSE colleagues to build a proactive and accountable safety culture across the organization.
Support and represent the team in selected leadership forums, contributing to decision-making and operational alignment through deputizing responsibilities where required.
Deliver impactful training and capability building in biosafety and lab safety, enhancing awareness and ensuring consistent adherence to standards.
Develop and continuously improve safety procedures, guidelines, and training materials, ensuring alignment with regulatory, HSE, and organizational requirements.
Foster a culture of collaboration, reliability, and structured execution, ensuring flexibility and responsiveness in a dynamic operational environment.
Contribute to personal and team growth by actively engaging in continuous learning and professional development within HSE and biosafety disciplines.
Essential Requirements:
Initial professional experience in laboratory, research, or biosafety environments
Interest in lab safety and/or biosafety is an advantage
Strong communication and presentation skills
Confident presence in operational laboratory environments
Ability to work independently and in a structured manner
Desirable Requirement:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in life sciences, biology, biomedical sciences, safety, or related field, or laboratory associate with relevant professional experience
Proficient in German and English; additional national languages are an advantage
