NRS builds technology and services used by thousands of independent retailers across the US. We're looking for a Junior Graphic Designer to join our Product Design team and help shape the visual layer of our digital products. You'll work closely with UI/UX designers to create illustrations, icons, graphics, motion assets, and other visual elements that make our products clearer, more engaging, and more consistent.
What the job involves:
- Create visual assets used directly inside our digital products, including illustrations, icons, badges, banners, empty states, onboarding visuals, promotional modules, and supporting graphics.
- Work closely with UI/UX designers to make sure visual assets fit naturally into product flows and interfaces.
- Adapt and expand existing visual styles across different product surfaces and use cases.
- Create consistent iconography and illustration sets that can scale across NRS products.
- Support product features with clear and engaging visual communication.
- Prepare assets for different screen sizes, resolutions, themes, and platforms.
- Create simple motion graphics and micro-animations where they improve the product experience.
- Maintain organized source files, reusable assets, components, and visual libraries.
- Participate in design reviews, receive feedback, and iterate quickly.
- Collaborate with product designers and developers to make sure assets are implemented correctly.
- Contribute to the evolution of the visual language across NRS products.
Requirements:
- 1+ years of professional experience in graphic design, visual design, digital design, or a related field. Strong internship, freelance, or personal product work is also considered.
- Portfolio demonstrating strong visual design fundamentals and digital work.
- Good working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and After Effects.
- Working knowledge of Figma.
- Strong understanding of composition, color, typography, visual hierarchy, and shape.
- Ability to create clean vector graphics, icons, and illustrations.
- Ability to work within an existing visual style and maintain consistency across a set of assets.
- Understanding of common digital asset formats such as SVG, PNG, WebP, and vector exports.
- Basic understanding of designing assets for different screen sizes and pixel densities.
- Ability to prepare clean, organized, production-ready files for developers.
- Attention to detail and willingness to review and refine your own work.
- Great English communication (minimum B2) and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Experience using AI-assisted image or asset-generation tools as part of a design workflow is a plus.
