Junior GIS Developer

Dewberry is currently seeking a Junior GIS Developer for our Fairfax, VA or Tampa, FL office. This is a hybrid role with 3 days expected in office.

• Work with senior developers to create internal and client-facing geospatial solutions within Esri and custom frameworks.
• Perform needs assessments to identify application and visualization requirements.
• Design data schemas.
• Develop user acceptance testing and documentation.
• Maintain and support applications according to changing business/mission requirements.
• Work on consulting projects for government and commercial clients.
• Participate in testing, supporting, and deploying tools and preparing technical documentation.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business, GIS or other relevant geospatial or data science related field with 0-3 years of professional experience
• Experience with Python, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and/or React
• Desire to grow as a GIS developer
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent problem-solving, verbal and written communication, design development, and debugging skills
• Ability to work independently using strong organizational skills and operate effectively in team settings using an agile software development approach and tools like Git/GitHub
• Be a U.S. citizen capable of passing a federal background investigation to obtain a Public Trust clearance 

Preferred Skills

• Experience working with ArcGIS Enterprise and Azure or AWS systems.

The projected range for this position is $81,000-$104,000 annually in our Tampa, FL office. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly.
