As a Junior Frontend Engineer specializing in React and TypeScript, you will help build seamless and intuitive user interfaces that support great user experiences. You will work closely with the airfocus tech lead, CTO, and other developers to implement high-quality, scalable features. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who is eager to learn, contribute to real product decisions, and grow within a supportive and collaborative team.
Our tech stack:
- React frontend with React-query for asynchronous state management
- Modular architecture with multiple extension packages that extend the core application managed in a monorepo for the frontend
- Typescript definitions for data fetching provided by the backend
- Separate repository for UI components
- NextJS, dnd kit, Turbo, Slate, Kubernetes, GitHub
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of our application architecture with guidance from senior engineers
- Build reusable and efficient React components, ranging from basic UI elements to more interactive features like drag and drop interfaces
- Collaborate with product managers and designers to turn ideas into functional, user-friendly features
- Participate in code reviews and testing activities to improve code quality and learn from teammates
- Work with backend engineers to connect frontend features with backend APIs
- Help diagnose and troubleshoot frontend bugs and performance issues
Requirements:
- 0-1 year of experience in a frontend or fullstack engineering role (internships or personal projects are welcome)
- Familiarity with React and TypeScript
- Understanding of modern CSS and layout techniques
- Basic knowledge of working with REST APIs
- Willingness to write and learn about automated tests
- Strong problem-solving mindset and eagerness to learn
- Clear communication skills and a collaborative attitude
- Comfortable working in an agile, team-oriented environment
- Proficiency in English (spoken and written)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Exposure to Docker or containerized development
