The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated Junior Financial Analyst to support Abbott’s Heart Failure (HF) Division’s R&D/SG&A activities in Pleasanton, CA. Heart Failure R&D/SG&A Financial Planning and Analysis team provides timely and accurate consolidated forecasts, reporting packages, executive level presentation content and analytics to functional leadership, HF consolidation teams, and the corporate as a whole. We are business partners driving positive outcomes with sound financial judgment, strong communication, and robust analytics.

What You'll Work On

  • Generate monthly reporting packages for DVP’s.
  • Participate in month end close activities; completing journal entries, reconciling month end results, driving reporting to HF HQ.
  • Drive and support the coordination and consolidation of rolling Latest Best Estimates (RLBEs).
  • Develop sustainable/repeatable reporting templates for quick and digestible analysis.
  • Support analysis and data aggregation for projects with Finance Director.
  • Participate and/or lead special projects from genesis to completion.
  • Serve as business partner for a key function within the business.
  • Innovate. Incumbent is encouraged to see things differently to help the team operate more efficiently and effectively.
  • Develop into an Abbott systems expert (SAP, Dodeca/Hyperion, Ariba, PowerBI).
  • Assist with ad hoc financial requests from leadership.
  • Responsible for maintaining the effectiveness of the Quality System at the site in accordance with divisional requirements and applicable regulations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in business administration, finance and accounting, or related field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience

  • 0- 2 years of finance or accounting experience. No prior experience required. This is an entry level position and all required financial training will be provided.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • High proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint and ability to learn / leverage digital tools.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to work successfully in a fast-paced environment, successfully prioritizing deliverables, meeting deadlines and fulfilling leadership requests without sacrificing quality.
  • Ability to leverage slower periods to proactively get ahead and manage busier periods more effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Essbase and Hyperion Financial Planning System (HFM).
  • Prior experience in a business finance function.

The base pay for this position is

$55,200.00 – $110,400.00
