Notion Press is a Chennai-based self-publishing platform, founded in 2012, that helps authors turn their ideas into published books. We handle design, printing, eBooks, and distribution to readers in over 150 countries, all powered by our own technology. Our mission is simple: share stories, spread ideas, change the world.
Writing code is the easy part now. Almost anyone with an AI assistant can do it. We're hiring for the person behind it: someone curious, careful enough to catch when "working" code is quietly wrong, and restless enough to automate anything they do twice. You'll build features, test them like you're trying to break them, and wire up AI agents to take manual work off our plate.
Build and ship features across our stack, using AI coding tools well.
Build and wire up AI agents to automate real Notion Press workflows.
Tune what you build: write quick evals, spot where an agent breaks, and tighten prompts and tools.
Test adversarially, and automate the repetitive stuff.
What we're looking for
Solid fundamentals in Python/PHP and JavaScript/TypeScript.
Basic working knowledge of SQL and databases.
Fluency with AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, etc.) and the judgment to know when their output is wrong.
Two or more real things you've built that you can show us, ideally including AI agents you can walk us through.
Hands-on with an agent SDK or framework: Claude Agent SDK, OpenAI Agents SDK, LangGraph, CrewAI, or n8n.
A feel for tuning agents: prompt design, tool calling, and simple evals.
A tester's instinct and a habit of automating boring work.
