The Early Graduate Engineer is an exciting entry-level opportunity for a curious and motivated engineer who wants to build a career in data centre infrastructure. This role is designed for graduates and early-career professionals who want to develop the technical, commercial and customer-facing skills needed to progress into future Application Engineer or Technical Sales Engineer roles.
Through structured training, mentoring and hands-on project exposure, you will gain experience in how Vertiv IT Systems solutions support modern digital infrastructure, including technologies from leading IT platforms such as NVIDIA, Dell, Lenovo, HPE and Supermicro.
You will be exposed to a broad range of data centre technologies, including racks, power distribution, cooling solutions, monitoring software, controls and automation, while working alongside experienced engineers and business specialists.
What you will do:
- Participate in a structured 12-month graduate development programme with rotations across Application Engineering, Design Engineering, Offering Management and multi-business-unit teams.
- Support data centre projects involving IT racks, power distribution, cooling solutions, monitoring systems and automation.
- Assist with customer requirements analysis, RFx reviews, product selection and technical proposal preparation.
- Support creation of quotations, technical documentation and customer-specific solution descriptions.
- Learn how to select and configure Vertiv products to meet customer needs.
- Collaborate with Sales, Application Engineers, Technical Sales Engineers and internal product teams.
- Participate in customer meetings, consultant discussions and internal technical reviews while developing professional communication skills.
- Build knowledge of Vertiv tools, processes, product portfolios and engineering workflows.
- Take increasing ownership of technical tasks as your knowledge and confidence develop.
What you will learn:

- Pre-sales engineering: understanding customer requirements, preparing proposals and supporting technical responses.
- Data centre design concepts: racks, power and cooling distribution, infrastructure layouts and integration considerations.
- Solution development: understanding product portfolios, technology trends and customer applications.
- Customer engagement: communicating technical solutions with customers, consultants and internal stakeholders.
- Modern IT infrastructure: AI/HPC-ready environments, enterprise systems and edge infrastructure.
- Cross-functional collaboration: how different Vertiv teams work together to deliver complete solutions.
