Sitting within the DTC Division, our CE (Consumer Electronics) Trading Manager will be instrumental in driving the commercial efforts for our sales growth through CE comprising of our TV/AV, Home Appliances and Monitors divisions, through our Samsung.com site, Student/Education, Affiliate sites, EPP partnerships and B2B.
They will work seamlessly within the broader DTC IE team and CE account teams to identify/unlock opportunities, deliver increased market share for SEUK-IE, and our commercial objectives.

Role and Responsibilities

Note: This role will be a 7 month contract

Your key responsibilities

  • The critical purpose of this role is to be instrumental in commercial sales growth, team member alignment and delivery of our TVAV and Home Appliance best in class E2E proposition for Samsung.com/ie.

  • Act as key commercial contact between multiple teams (especially the TV and Home Appliance IE and UK account teams) to ensure we remain aligned with wider goals, drive mutual outcome where everybody wins, and secure support for our plans by building strong commercial plans as well as relationships among the key team members within CE.

  • Ensure we have a robust data position from which we can find opportunities, make informed decisions and measure success. This will include collating and sharing data on competitor activity, market analysis, commercial performance, marketing effectiveness, onsite performance and customer behaviour with the IE Ecommerce lead.

  • A key part of this role is the management of DTC onsite activity, including the overseeing of promotional, branding and product launch campaigns. This will involve working closely with the web portal team to ensure that brand principles and commercial best practices are applied. When required, it will also involve project management to implement new web functionalities to facilitate improved experience and new onsite capabilities.

  • This role will require leading multiple project initiatives by collaborating with teams across marketing, operations, analytics, onsite and product teams. This includes launching new product bundling propositions, onboarding affiliate partners and introducing new sales avenues and ecommerce partnerships. The successful candidate will take ownership of each of these projects through their full lifecycle, ensuring they are delivered in time and in line with business goals and expectations.

  • Ensure we have robust and future proofed customer E2E (beyond promotional activity) propositions to both recruit and retain customers; to include our Finance, Delivery and Price Promise offering to customers. This will require working with our central D2C Development Teams to source consumer insight and collaborate with our Onsite Experience and Operations team to implement and provide insight that may benefit CE sales growth.

  • Working alongside our Operations Manager, the CE category manager will be looking to improve management of CE stock where any opportunity exists and will set the standards to ensure that our after sales delivery and install services are met and/or exceeded for eStore customers.

  • Ensure we have clear, well define project plans for upcoming promotions; aligned to our commercial targets; so that our promotions are landed on time and to a high standard of execution, and deliver against our agreed sales targets and critical metrics through CX, marketing, and onsite activity.

  • Act as a mentor for junior team members, providing technical guidance and support to ensure best practices are followed, and supporting in balancing priorities and managing workload. Lead by example and foster a culture of continuous learning by sharing knowledge, experiences and insights.

  • Above all else, this is a commercially focused role and must deliver our short-term sales targets across multiple channels. Best in class reporting of performance and propositional/execution enhancements will be shared with the key team members. These reports will be analysed in collaboration with the IE Ecommerce Lead to further the sales ambitions of the IE eStore channel

What does success look like?

  • To support Ireland Ecommerce Lead to develop a clear commercial plan, customer proposition(s) and operational capability to achieve and exceed our CE growth sales targets.

  • To maintain the commercial propositions roadmap; to both acquire and retain CE customers. Ensure a clear test and learn plan is in place, to ensure our commercial propositions deliver incremental growth.

  • Help to secure alignment across DTC (onsite and marketing), PMO, CX, and CE division to support agreed proposition development, commercial growth plans and proposition roadmaps.

  • Work alongside Onsite Experience and Marketing teams to deliver recognised best in class execution for our CE commercial propositions.

  • Clear channel and market headroom analysis.

  • Effective and resourced strategy.

  • Propositional development plan

  •  Delivery plan for short to medium term.
