The Commodities Content team collects, manages, and supplies content of various asset classes like Metals, Oils, Agriculture, Power, Gas, Coal & Carbon. The individual will be accountable for delivering on key projects related to Business Cases, database and supporting Data Strategy teams and will contribute to the delivery of the content automation roadmap to fulfil the business requirements.

The role of the Junior Data Scientist is to:

Design and develop new methodologies, quantitative models, analysis and commentary (as relevant) that enhance existing or new processes.  Maintain existing product performance and independent analysis standards.  Internally, work with various departments to grow new ideas and expand the scope of existing products.

Key responsibilities:

• Design and implement end-to-end automation solutions using mentioned tools to optimize workflows and improve efficiency.
• Extract insights from complex datasets, build interactive dashboards, and provide actionable recommendations to teams.
• Develop, improve and run quantitative models & generate solutions through machine learning for core processes. Work with business, content and product groups for large-scale analytics problems.
• Partner with various teams, to integrate automation and analytics solutions seamlessly into existing infrastructure.
• Challenge the status-quo by proposing innovative ideas, driving simplification efforts, and encouraging a culture of continuous improvement.
• Train and mentor team members on automation tools and techniques, encouraging the adoption of new technologies.
• Proactively supervise scheduled scripts & analytics dashboards, address issues, and provide ongoing support for deployed solutions.
• Experience of interacting at senior level Managers and ensuring credibility is maintained through strong delivery against commitments.
• Should be able to understand the core APIs and how to use them in BCPs and come up with common functionalities which could be reused across teams.

Knowledge & Skills:

• Extensive experience using Python or R or equivalent
• Proficient in using tools and libraries such as scikit-learn, numpy, pandas and jupyter
• Solid relational database skills
• Solid understanding of statistics and statistical language such as R
• Ability to handle large quantities of data
• Narrate stories (to technical and mostly non-technical audience) about our content and processes by data analysis and visualization
• Strong written, communication and presentation skills.  Able to respond and present work to peers, senior management and other stakeholders

Qualification:

• Higher education in Statistics, Mathematics or Engineering in Computer Science with Data science certification
