Junior Data Scientist / Sr Analyst
OCT Consulting is a business management and technology consulting firm that supports Federal Government clients. We provide consulting services in the areas of Program and Project Management, Acquisition/Procurement, Data Analytics, and Information Technology.
Responsibilities and Duties
OCT currently has an opening for a Junior Data Scientist to support an existing federal client with data analysis and predictive model development on the Databricks platform.
Day to day responsibilities include:
- Data cleaning and ETL development with SQL and Python
- Data analysis using SQL and Python
- Building pipelines in Databricks
- Building visualizations with Databricks
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Minimum B.S. (M.S. preferred) in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or similar
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience
- Familiarity with FAIR principles, data governance, and AI ethics.
- Hands-on experience with Databricks features such as Unity Catalog setup, privilege models, and workspace administration required.
- Databricks certifications are preferred
- Strong documentation, analytical, and communication skills.
- Location: Hybrid, with 2 days/week in the McLean, VA office

Salary Range: $80k - $100k commensurate with experience, skills, and education.

Skills Required
- U.S. Citizenship
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or similar
- Master's degree in relevant field (preferred)
