At OfferZen, our ability to use data is core to improving processes, identifying new opportunities and guiding decision-making across the organisation as we continue to scale our operation geographically and in head count. As a Junior Data Engineer, you will help establish high quality and sustainable data processing systems for ingestion, processing and the availability of production data and machine learning models to analysts, data scientists and the broader organisation.
What you’ll do
- Assist in designing and implementing data ingestion pipelines.
- Learn to configure off-the-shelf data integrations.
- Participate in testing and monitoring data pipelines to ensure data quality and reliability.
- Support analysts and data scientists in accessing and using our data warehouse and tools.
- Learn and apply coding best practices, including code reviews.
- Gain experience with data pipeline performance tuning and scalability.
- Monitor and support data operations
Competencies
- Strong understanding of SQL and Python.
- Ability to write basic data integrations and transformations.
- Able to write performant data integrations via APIs
- Familiarity with testing and debugging techniques.
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
You’ll be a great fit for this role if you have:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in data engineering or a similar role.
- Passion for data and technology.
