About the role


This position is all about enhancing efficiency and creating impactful insights through detailed financial analysis. You’ll be responsible for supporting month-end processes, reviewing journal entries, analyzing financial data, and ensuring accounting standards are met.


This is an in-person role based out of our Sherwood Park, AB office. 

In this role, you will be expected to:

  • Month-End Support: Assisting with month-end close, including reviewing and posting journal entries to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyzing revenue, product performance, and client profitability to help uncover key trends and insights.
  • Account Reconciliation: Verifying and reconciling accounts, ensuring accuracy in financial records.
  • Process Automation: Collaborating on process improvement initiatives, particularly in PM cases, to streamline operations and increase efficiency
  • AR/AP: Acting as a support for accounts receivable and payable functions to aid the team during peak periods
  • Case Analysis: Supporting case reviews by assessing the accounting impact, ensuring entries align with business goals
  • Problem Solving: Investigating discrepancies and resolving issues independently, working closely with leadership to ensure accuracy and efficiency
  • Leadership Support: Taking on tasks to free up senior team members’ capacity, allowing them to focus on higher-level priorities.

Qualifications we are looking for:

  • Minimum 3 years accounting experience at an intermediate to senior-level accounting position
  • Professional accounting designation (e.g., CPA) or equivalent
  • Technologically savvy with intermediate to advanced skills in Excel (e.g. pivot tables); Power BI, ERP implementation and/or AI experience
  • Previous experience in operational finance or industry-specific role is a must
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to translate numbers into actionable insights.

Bonus points if you have (these are assets, but not required):

  • Experience as a team lead or supervisor in a previous role
