We are growing and have an open position for a COBOL engineer.
Our client is a US-based company providing market-leading software (SaaS or On-Premise) and services (BPaaS) for Medicare Advantage and Managed Medicaid Plans. The solutions are designed to streamline operations and improve efficiencies for health insurance companies.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in COBOL for legacy code maintenance
- At least 1-2 years of relevant experience
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- English - at least B2 level
Nice-to-have skills:
- Experience with or willingness to learn Java is a plus;
- Familiarity with frontend technologies, specifically Angular is a plus;
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and enhance existing COBOL-based systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to legacy systems.
- Assist in the gradual migration of COBOL code to Java-based solutions.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of internal processes.
- Document technical specifications and maintain up-to-date records of system changes.
