Role Overview

We are seeking a Junior Business Analyst to support business and technology initiatives by gathering, analyzing, and documenting requirements. This role involves working closely with stakeholders and technical teams to translate business needs into actionable solutions, particularly within data-driven and integration-focused environments.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a comprehensive range of business analysis services to support diverse business and technology needs
  • Engage stakeholders and subject matter experts to gather, document, and analyze business requirements
  • Conduct business analysis to assess problems/opportunities and document requirements for solution development
  • Support business process improvements using re-engineering concepts and cost-effective delivery approaches
  • Align business analysis efforts with standardized project management and development methodologies
  • Prepare business cases, feasibility studies, and cost-benefit analyses
  • Facilitate requirements gathering sessions including interviews, workshops, and JAD sessions
  • Perform business modeling, data modeling, use case development, and process mapping
  • Define business rules and non-functional requirements
  • Monitor progress, resolve issues, and report updates to stakeholders and technical teams
  • Develop performance metrics and traceability matrices for business analysis evaluation
  • Assist in backlog management, user story creation, and refinement within Agile projects
  • Collaborate with Product Owners and act as a proxy when needed
  • Support technical teams by clarifying and validating data requirements
  • Create documentation including presentations and briefing notes

Qualifications

Must-Have Skills

  • Hands-on experience working with FHIR standards, including resource modeling and FHIR APIs
  • Experience with Agile methodology using Azure DevOps
  • Ability to translate data requirements into user stories
  • Experience collaborating with technical teams to validate requirements
  • Experience using Databricks and writing SQL queries
  • Data analysis and source-to-target mapping experience (relational systems to FHIR)
  • Experience creating JSON files and API testing using Postman

General Skills

  • Experience with digital projects and enterprise system implementations
  • Knowledge of requirements gathering techniques and stakeholder engagement
  • Familiarity with CASE tools for documenting requirements
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage deadlines and work effectively in a team

Technical Knowledge & Expertise

  • Understanding of HL7-FHIR resources and implementation guides
  • Experience with API testing and data validation
  • Knowledge of cloud solutions and system integrations within Microsoft environments
  • Familiarity with SDLC and Agile methodologies
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform
  • Understanding of data modeling and enterprise architecture concepts
  • Knowledge of emerging IT trends and technologies
  • Understanding of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) standards
