Job Description

Our Testers work with project teams to ensure software quality through systematic test planning, execution, and defect tracking, ensuring functionality, performance, and reliability of applications before deployment. With deep knowledge of various types of applications, databases, and operating systems, they maintain high standards of product excellence and user satisfaction. 

The Junior Automation QA Engineer role involves actively supporting QA activities within a SCRUM team. This includes assisting in the implementation and execution of test scenarios for User Stories (both manual and automated, with a growing focus on automation). You will work under guidance while collaborating with stakeholders such as the Product Owner, System Designer, and Business Representatives to contribute to delivering a high-quality product.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the QA and development teams to understand business and technical requirements.
• Assist in creating, maintaining, and executing automated test scripts for web applications and client/server environments.
• Perform testing activities including Black Box, White Box, and exploratory testing under guidance.
• Write and execute test cases based on provided specifications, and log and track defects using bug-tracking tools.
• Contribute to regression testing efforts by identifying key areas impacted by application changes.
• Participate in Agile and Scrum ceremonies, ensuring testing is aligned with sprint goals.
• Learn and assist in the development of test plans, scripts, and scenarios for functional, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely delivery of quality software products.
• Demonstrate a willingness to learn and adapt to new tools, technologies, and methodologies.

Qualifications

Must have skills:

• Minimum 2 years of experience
• Proven QA automation experience and willing to work in Java test automation with Selenium, Cucumber and Gherkin.
• Solid experience of working with Intellij IDEA IDE
• Understanding of automation frameworks and workflows
• Experience in version control systems (GIT)
• Experience with JIRA or alike applications.
• SQL scripting skills
• Experience of work with Microsoft SQL Server, such as using SQL Management Studio
• Experience in use of defect management tools, in particular AzureDevOps
• Experience in the financial sector preferred, but not essential.
• Ability to communicate about IT and technology in plain-English and in non-technical terms to colleagues and Clients.
