The Associate Corporate Counsel will provide legal support across a broad range of corporate, commercial, government contracting, and regulatory matters affecting Indra Group’s U.S. operations. Indra Group USA comprises multiple entities operating in the aerospace, defense, air traffic management, and transportation technology sectors, serving U.S. federal government customers as well as international and commercial clients. This role will work closely with business and functional teams across the group to support strategic initiatives while ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
Government Contracts and Commercial Agreements• Support the review, negotiation, and administration of U.S. government contracts, task orders, modifications, and amendments under FAR and DFARS.
• Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a variety of commercial agreements, including NDAs, subcontracts, technical service agreements, vendor agreements, and procurement documents.
• Assist with proposal support, including review of terms and conditions, representations and certifications, and bid/proposal compliance.
Corporate Governance and Restructuring
• Assist with corporate governance matters, including board resolutions, entity formation, capitalization, and corporate reorganizations across U.S. subsidiaries.
• Assist with state registrations, regulatory filings, and corporate compliance.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Human Resources, Commercial, Operations, Compliance, and Project Management.
• Provide practical, business-oriented legal advice to internal stakeholders across all U.S. entities.
Qualifications
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited U.S. law school.• Admission to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction and in good standing with the applicable state bar (Virginia or D.C. bar membership preferred).
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in government contracts, corporate, or commercial law at a law firm with a government contracts or trade controls practice, or in-house at a government contracting company.
• Working knowledge of U.S. government contracting regulations, including the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS).
• Strong legal research, drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and exercise sound professional judgment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multicultural and cross-functional environment.
• Location: Ability to work hybrid/on-site in our Washington, D.C. area (preferred) or Overland Park, KS office- moving to Olathe, KS by end of year. There will be 10-25% travel as needed, primarily domestic, some international.
Skills Required
- 2 to 5 years of experience handling U.S. Federal Government contracts, including FAR and DFAR matters
- Commercial-only contract experience does not qualify
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Active bar admission in good standing
- Ability to work hybrid or on-site in the Washington, D.C. area or Overland Park, Kansas
