Position Overview:
The position, Junior Analyst – Dashboard Development will support StepStone's Data and Technology Solutions (DATS) team by developing, testing, and maintaining Power BI dashboards, data models, and ad-hoc analyses. This role supports firmwide reporting initiatives that provide insights to both internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate is eager to solve complex problems and well suited to those early in their analytics careers, including recent graduates, looking to grow their technical skill set.
Essential Job Functions:
- Support the development and maintenance of Power BI dashboards and reports for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Perform dashboard quality assurance testing in accordance with established team guidelines.
- Support version control processes and adhere to analytics development best practices.
- Manage multiple priorities effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
- Develop subject matter expertise in StepStone’s business model, private markets industry, and emerging data analytics trends.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in STEM related field preferred but not required.
- Prior experience working with data models and business intelligence platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to projects or coursework that added measurable value.
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Working knowledge of SQL for data querying and manipulation
- Exposure to Power BI, Tableau, or similar data visualization tools is a plus.
- Analytical mindset with a strong commitment to data accuracy, particularly important given the QA responsibilities of this role.
- Strong understanding of data modeling, dashboard design, and BI best practices.
- Effective communicator, able to clearly document issues, flag discrepancies, and summarize findings for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and adapt to change.
- Naturally inquisitive, eager to learn new technologies and industry best practices.
Salary: $30 / hour
